Overview
BIOWEG is seeking a strategic Financial Manager to lead BIOWEG’s financial operations following our recent successful fundraising. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, managing substantial balance sheets and maintaining the company’s financial health as we scale our operations. Your expertise will be key in navigating the complexities of a growing startup and supporting its continued development.
Your Role
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with company objectives
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure compliance with German financial regulations and standards, remaining informed of any changes that may impact the company
- Develop, manage and analyze financial models and data to support strategic decision-making
- Manage internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and implementing improvements
- Evaluate and enhance financial processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide detailed financial reports and insights to senior management to support strategic decisions
Your Profile
- Master's degree or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- Proven experience in financial management roles, preferably within companies of 40-80 employees
- In-depth understanding of the German financial system and compliance requirements
- Experience in handling balance sheets with figures in the double-digit millions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps, especially Excel
- Demonstrated experience in conducting and managing audits
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient command of English and German
- Ability to work in a startup fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross functional teams
