Portfolio Steering - Actuary & Business Analyst (Long Tail)

Your Tasks

■ Define, develop, and maintain analytical and actuarial models for all long-tail lines of business, supporting data-driven underwriting decisions in the industrial customer insurance business of HDI Global SE
■ Handle ad-hoc analytical requests for special or complex topics
■ Take end-to-end responsibility for ESG line of business, including KPI monitoring, portfolio performance deep dives, regular reporting, and support of planning and forecasting processes
■ Support the integration of ESG line of business into portfolio steering activities
■ Close collaboration with strategic underwriters and other stakeholders (controlling, pricing, actuarial valuation) in home office and (lead-)underwriters worldwide
■ Collaborate closely within the team to ensure alignment, methodological consistency, and best practices across all lines of business

Your Profile

■ Strong actuarial and analytical mindset with a deep understanding of underwriting principles and decision‑making in industrial customer insurance
■ High ownership mentality with a proactive advisory approach and strong stakeholder management skills.
■ Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
■ Professional actuarial qualification is an advantage (e.g. DAV, SAV, CAS, IA or similar)
■ Several years of professional experience within an insurance company
■ Proficiency in statistical, analytical, and data visualisation tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Power BI)
■ Strong analytical thinking skills and enjoyment of working in an international, cross‑functional team
■ Strong proficiency in English and willingness to learn German
